245: Morning Warm Ups

Experimenting with pen and 6B pencil:

Below were some quick 30 second poses on the back of a page where Ink spilled through. Let's not let the trees go to waste :P

Below are 2 gestures using the technique of 2 different artists. The first one is inspired by Loomis, the second one by the more contemporary Michael Hampton.

244: Headstudies

Going back to some anatomy, especially love the work of Loomis. I'll be doing some studies of his pen illustrations..first I have to buy some ink though! :D

In the end I wasn't patient enough to see this through, but it was fun to try this shading technique:
I first broke down the head into shapes (below)

243: Some traditional media gestures

I've been doing a lot of digital gesture warm ups, so today I went back to some old school drawing on paper :)

242: Morning Warm Ups + Brush settings in Flash

Again Flash, same as the days before.. I also picked my favorite gesture for a full pager :P

241: More gestures in Flash

Same as yesterday, 2 pages of 60 second gestures in Flash. Tone added in Photoshop afterwards.

239: More thumbnail drawings

I had my composition sorted and my subjects all left, hence the empty chairs :P

This was an attempt as drawing a caricature from a person in the pub...

Thumbnails for the bigger drawings

This was way too ambitious, probably a 2 hour drawing but I didn't feel like putting in the work so instead a scribbly, messy 30 minute drawing.

238: Thumbnailing

These are quick environment sketches in a cafe and pub..the last 2 are crap because I had a few drinks in me by that time :P

237: Dead Zoo and cafe sketch

I did a longer study..always kind of wanted to show the general awesomeness of the place, not only the animals. It's an amazing place to walk through.

I then did a sketch in a cafe with my buddy Arif (https://www.facebook.com/MisterGein)

I was aiming for a 2 page spread, but didn't get to finish :P
