263: Sol Art Life Drawing Dublin

Man...I am wrecked today, which why I decided to scan and upload my drawings after life drawing..since I wasn't going to do anything productive anyway. It's been ages since I went to a Tuesday drawing session, I wasn't used to the pace anymore :P

1 minute warm up sketches.... I usually draw on A4 but I went with an A3 pad today. I've got to get back to using charcoal for these..or something a bit looser than pencil anyway.

And the one beneath, easily my favorite drawing from the evening, even though it's just one minute:

5 and 10 minute drawings:

20 minute drawing, I did 2 but the first one was with a light marker and doesn't even show up on the scan :P The one beneath was done with 2 promarkers and a biro..no pencil sketch.
Last 25 min pose. I clearly couldn't decide what to do. I rushed the first one because I wanted to do a study of the chest muscles. And I rushed the study because I spent too long on the first sketch :P In which case you end up with 2 half assed drawings :D

259: Life Drawing at Sol Art

1 minute warm ups (meh session today):

(below)I was really tired so some shading with an HB pencil was nicely relaxing :D

(below) Very bad lighting on the back, so not a very interesting view to draw, also a little headstudy that was completely off.
(below) White not completely accurate I think I captured the gesture of her face.

256: Life Drawing at Sol Art Gallery

Sorry, I was way too lazy to scan these drawings in! these were from the session at Sol Art Gallery on 19/12 with model Fainche.

The 1 minute warm up drawings
(note: I don't alter my drawings but to make them pop more I add an opaque layer to make the silhouette clearer).

First 30 minutes of the pose (angle A):
You can see I tried out 2 different styles to get the pose down.

Angle B:

When I was drawing this I thought it was a going to be a great drawing, I guess I should've looked away for a bit to gain some perspective on how it was actually looking :P

Angle C

Up close and personal with the model! Kind of intimidating to have those eyes stare at you...now I know what it feels like to be a model :D

Wish I had more time on this, if I had an hour I think I really could've made this one work. Right now I feel it's really missing some midtones. But what I love about it is that it reminds me of those capcom posters of Street Fighter (not on purpose).

Before Life Drawing I also went for a coffee at Starbucks and made some sketches:

255: Anatomy Studies

These are applied anatomy studies using photo reference (in this case posemaniacs.com) where I then draw the figure with anatomy from memory.
