This month has been really hectic, and I stopped scanning my sketches to save some time. I'll go back to normal schedule next month, but in the meantime here are some studies from the last week.

More Torso Studies
Didn't get that much studying done this week, definitely going to take it a bit more easy creatively next month so I can keep focussing on studying the figure.

John Byrne Studies + Loomis
You know I'm very envious of those kids who spent their childhood copying their favorite cartoons or comics. They were learning so much without even realising it! ]I always drew as a kid, but I never copied. I just drew from my imagination and as a result I drew badly :P
Usually when you speak to somebody who is young and really good at drawing, they'll tell you they spent their childhood copying art. So here I am, way overdue, but I'm also copying artists work to learn from them. I used the work here of John Byrne to analyse some poses with a skeleton and anatomy from memory.
And some good old Loomis...seriously love Loomis as you might've noticed from this blog. His books just keep giving!

Long Torso Studies
note: these are applied studies where I try to draw the muscles where I think they should be. This could all be wrong, so please don't use my drawings for study material :P

More Torso Studies
Note: I don't post these studies as notes for other people to learn from. These are just for practice and learning and are most likely largely inaccurate! The book I used for these studies was : "Drawing Anatomy School" (LINK)
It's more to motivate other artists and to give people ideas on how they can study anatomy. You are not alone out there :P
Below are some studies using photographs of models and trying to work out where the muscles are in those poses. It' sometimes quite hard because not a lot of people are super defined, so it's really a bit of guesswork :D
